Joseph Carringer – The Digital Didge

Joseph Carringer (AKA Joe Hemp) has been playing the didgeridoo since 1997. While managing a local blues bar (where he often sat in on saxophone) Joseph picked up a didgeridoo and was immediately able to play well enough to begin performing with a wide array of blues and jazz talent.

In 1999 while working for a hemp clothing company, Joseph was invited to play with NJ and NYC area DJ Ivan Gonzo and began playing out under the name "Joe Hemp". Since then Joseph has performed in various NJ clubs, including Splash at the Sandbar Entertainment Complex in Jersey City. Other notable venues where he has performed include:

Joseph and DJ Nkosi also held a weekly residency on 101.5 FM WXGR and currently host The Portsmouth Underground with a weekly residency.
